For the past few days I've been introducing Jack Carter's new initiative of "participatory campaigning." You can read about it
here in the original introduction. As I reported yesterday,
we've started to get a good number of people interested in helping with the campaign. Today, I want to make sure that night owls -- and I'm usually one of you -- also know about what we're doing. In a nutshell, we're asking people do contribute their time, energy, and skill -- ability to do research, write, analyze, translate, and more -- to help take down John "100% agreement with Bush in 2004" Ensign.
If you haven't heard about it yet, you'll want to click the links above, then follow me over the fold.
By way of introduction, my name is Greg, and I'm going to be starting as Jack Carter's Deputy Campaign Manager for Research in August. I'm trying to line up people here to help me help Jack win that election. I'd like you to be one of the people to help. Write me at
greg@carterfornevada.com if this catches your interest.
I'm also a long-term frequent Daily Kos contributor. I'm not using my other account name largely because I'm still employed elsewhere (and I'm not a sock-puppet, by the way, because I never work in the same diary using both accounts. This is legit.) I won't go into all of the different ways that you can help right now; you can click the links for a broad discussion of everything you can do. Opposition research, issue research, designing and implementing polls (which can mean as little as having a lot of minutes to spare and the ability to follow instructions), translating materials for us, helping plan an anti-voter-intimidation strategy, and more. We're looking to give people like you something to do with your free time to actually change U.S. politics -- starting with the U.S. Senate.
So this is my pitch to the night owls: click those links, recommend this if you'd like others to see it, and come help us make history. I'll look forward to hearing from you at greg@carterfornevada.com.
